Arts AND craftsAll too often I get yelled at for saying something isn't art, or saying that something lacks artistic view or reason. I think this stems from the mis-conception that craft IS art. I assure you that it is not.
Craft is everything about a work that requires physical or structural skill. The number of words a poet knows how to rhyme or knows how to use. The poet's ability to keep meter and flow. The painter's skill at shading or rendering a form. The painters knowledge of color theory and how to perform many styles of painting.
